Rapper 6ix9ine (Daniel Hermandez) was previously arrested back in March of 2015 for sexual assault charges (the victim was supposedly 13 years old). He pleaded guilty of these charges in October of 2015 and in response took a plea agreement. Hermandez was originally sentenced to 1-3 years in prison but was granted 4 years probation instead. The plea agreement he took consisted of Hermandez passing his GED and avoiding arrests until October 2017 but the date kept getting pushed back and he failed to pass his GED. Video evidence has recently surfaced proving the he received allegations are true. He was also charged with allegedly grabbing a teenager's neck and driving with a suspended license in Brooklyn last May.
It's no secret that 6ix9ine has been "problematic." This should be the end of his career, but in messed up reality, he will probably receive more attention. 6ix9ine recently blew up with his collaboration on FEFE with Nicki Minaj and now his name will be in the media more with these charges and his sales may even go up in a week purely because people are hearing his name. But this can also be the end of sponsorships he had and he may lose some key connections with people who were helping his career. Fame also definitely helped him get out of a legitimate sentence. 4 years on probation does not equal time in prison. There was probably work behind the scenes that ensures 6ix9ine wouldn't get into serious trouble and continue releasing music. (Hopefully) if this were a case against a regular person, there would be a prison sentence.
