Kanye West's iconic album "808s & Heartbreak" turned 10 years old on November 24, 2018. Malik Yousef, an artist on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music label, was so heavily influenced by this album that he decided to announce a tour to tribute it on the 10th anniversary. While Kanye West himself will not be performing, Yousef recieved "Kanye's blessing," and opened the tour up to other artists to join him if they pass an open audition. Yusef has many co-writing credits on the album and described it as heartbreak being a two way street and Yusef is ecstatic to bring it back to life on the 19-city tour.
I think it's great that this album is getting a revival tour. This is my personal favorite Kanye album and it's great to see that it's not being forgotten. This tour is an interesting and new concept in the music business. I love the concept of a tour dedicated to an album that was influential in the industry and I can see this trend continuing. Artists that make it big in the music business always have one album or other artist that inspired them. Tours dedicated to other artists and albums would be a way artists could tribute their biggest inspirations.
